Fort Campbell’s 101st Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners” to conduct Change of Command Ceremony

Fort Campbell, KY – The 101st Sustainment Brigade, the U.S. Army’s premiere logistics unit, will conduct a change of command ceremony June 20th, 2012 at the Division Parade Field here.

Outgoing commander, Col. Michael P. Peterman, will officially relinquish command to Col. Charles Hamilton at the ceremony.

As the commander of the 101st Sustainment Brigade, Peterman provided command and control for four Combat Sustainment Support Battalions, one Special Troops Battalion, Human Resources and Financial Management Companies during their deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The brigade, consisting of more than 5,500 service members, Department of the Army Civilians and contractors, supported Regional Commands East, North and Capital within the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan.

They also worked closely with Afghanistan National Security Forces, to include Afghanistan National Army, and Afghanistan National Police and  enhanced the logistics capability, security, and promote governance and economic development throughout the CJOA-A.
