City of Clarksville to hold Public Hearing on City Budget June 18th, 2012

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council passed the proposed 2012-2013 budget on the first reading last night in a Special Session.

The public hearing and second reading of the budget will be held on June 18th, 2012 at 5:00pm in the City Council Chambers.

“As I have said before, my goal is to make the budget process as open, transparent and informational as possible,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. “We have made the budget information available in several ways so that members of the public can access it.”

On the City of Clarksville’s website, citizens can access the full budget of each Department, including Power Point and video presentations, a Departmental expenditure line item summary, a Departmental expenditure budget detail, budget summaries and the Mayor’s letter to the citizens which provides an overview.

Additionally, the budget was published in the newspaper today for easier access for those people who may not have access to a computer.

As with the previous hearings and working sessions, the June 18th hearing is open to all members of the public.
