Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature the watercolor and oil paintings of local artist Lynne Griffey beginning the first Thursday in July.
“I am excited about the exhibit and am currently working on something new and totally different,” said Griffey. “It will be an honor to incorporate the new with the old at [Planters] bank.”
Griffey began developing her own painting abilities in 2007 shortly after retiring from teaching art. She started with a mural project for the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, which led to many more public and private projects.
Her series of historical Clarksville scenes led to a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters for a fundraising calendar that is produced each year. To date, she has donated her work to more than 20 churches and non-profit organizations for fundraisers.

The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery is located at 1971 Madison Street. The Griffey exhibit is open to the public from Thursday, July 5th through Wednesday, August 1st during regular bank hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.
