2012 Hay Directory Available for Tennessee Livestock Producers

 

Listing Serves as Helpful Drought Management Resource

The Tennessee Department of AgricultureNashville, TN – The 2012 Tennessee Hay Directory is now available to help livestock producers source locally grown forages. The directory is produced through a partnership between the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation and provides a listing of hay available for sale by county.

“With record temperatures and drought conditions, many Tennessee livestock producers are feeding hay at a time when they are normally cutting it for winter use,” state Agriculture Commissioner Julius Johnson said. “Although this is a service that we provide every year, it will be particularly helpful to farmers this year who are looking to buy or sell hay.” «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay Students gain valuable experience with help of new 3-D Printers

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Students enrolled in the engineering technology degree program at the Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell may be amazed to see the colorful, three-dimensional objects they create using new specialized machines.

However, they are gaining a lot more. The new state-of-the-art three-dimensional (3-D) printers are the tools used in the automotive and manufacturing industries, such as aerospace, medical, product design and small quantity commercial product manufacturing. This means students are getting the knowledge they need to use in the workforce.

Clarksville’s Russ Shemberger qualifies for Triathlon World Championships

 

Restore Preformance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championships, to be held September 9th in Las Vegas, NV.

A veteran multisport athlete, Shemberger earned the qualifying spot after racing in Ironman 70.3 Muncie on July 7th in Muncie, IN, earning a top 25 finish in his age group (45-49 male) out of 160 competitors.

Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist with Restore Performance Massage, competed in Ironman 70.3 Muncie on July 7th. His ranking qualified him for the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon World Championships, to be held September 9th in Las Vegas.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for July 15th through July 21st

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – David Midlick, an Austin Peay State University assistant women’s basketball coach the past three seasons has resigned his position to become the head women’s basketball coach at Division II Delta State.

Midlick will replace Sandra Rushing, who left the Lady Statesmen to take the head coaching position at Division I Central Arkansas in May.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Walnut Street Lane Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Walnut Street to one lane of traffic between Power Street to Allison Drive for natural gas line inspection and maintenance. The work is expected to be complete and the road reopened by 12:00pm.
