Fort Campbell’s 506th Infantry Regiment celebrates 70th Birthday

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionThe CurraheesFort Campbell, KY – The 506th Infantry Regiment celebrated its 70th birthday on July 20th, 2012 at Fort Campbell, KY. The day started with a cake cutting, followed by a 5.06 mile run and a four mile brigade run.

The day’s events included various battalion competitions as part of a Currahee Challenge, a Distingushed Member of the Regiment and Honorary Member of the Regiment ceremony, a retirement ceremony for Sergeant Major Robert J. Corrigan, and concluded with the change of responsibility from Command Sgt. Maj. William R. Hambrick, Jr., the outgoing brigade command sergeant major, to Command Sgt. Maj. Michael A. Grinston.
