Lone Oak Picnic tradition attracts Candidates

Election 2012Cunningham, TN – The 104th Lone Oak Picnic was held Saturday, July 28th by the Central Civitan Club at the Civitan Building on Alonzo Place. The Lone Oak Picnic has a long standing tradition of candidates running for election giving speeches during the event. Clarksville Online videoed each candidate’s speech for those unable to attend.

The Lone Oak Picnic is always the last Saturday in July. This is also the last weekend before the state primary election which makes it a great opportunity for the candidates to get in front of voters one last time.

14 Federal, State and Local candidates were on hand at this years picnic. The candidates are listed below in the order that the speeches were given.

Marsha Blackburn, Republican incumbent, running for United States House of Representatives, 7th Congressional District.

Credo Amouzouvik, Democrat running for United States House of Representatives, 7th Congressional District.

John C. Tidwell, Democrat incumbent running for Tennessee House of Representatives, 74th District.

Nick Steward, Republican running for Tennessee House of Representatives, 74th District.

Lauri Day, Republican running for Tennessee House of Representatives, 74th District.

Joe Pitts, Democrat incumbent running unopposed for the Tennessee House of Representatives, 67th Representative District.

Tim Barnes, Democrat incumbent running for Tennessee Senate, 22nd Senatorial District.

Mark Green, Republican running for Tennessee Senate, 22nd Senatorial District.

Mike Frost running unopposed for Highway Supervisor.

Betty M. Burchett running unopposed for Assessor of Property.

Brenda Radford current County Trustee.

Mark Riggins current Montgomery County Commissioner for District 4.

Daulton Harrison current Montgomery County Commissioner for District 6.

Stephanie Trotter Lobdell running for School Board Member, District 2.

Margaret Pace running for School Board Member, District 2.
