Clarksville Director of Finance relocating to Texas

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Director of Finance, Ben Griffin, has resigned his position for an opportunity in Texas.

“I have really enjoyed my time here in Clarksville.  I have an opportunity to take the next step in my profession and to return home to Texas.  It’s simply an opportunity I can’t pass up.  I appreciate all the support I have received from my colleagues and Mayor McMillan.  I know that the City of Clarksville is moving in the right direction and I will continue to watch the City’s progress with pride,” said Griffin.

Mr. Griffin has served as Clarksville’s Finance Director for three years.  he has worked in the government sector for more than two decades.

“Ben Griffin has been an invaluable part of our team.  He is a man of great principle and dedication to the people of Clarksville.  His leadership of the Finance Department and his extensive knowledge of the governmental budget process have helped the City grow in the most responsible and practical way possible.  I appreciate everything he has done for Clarksville and for my administration.  While he will be missed tremendously, we wish him every success in his future endeavors,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

Griffin’s resignation is effective August 31st, 2012.

Upon Mr. Griffin’s departure and until a permanent replacement is found, Mayor McMillan is appointing Debbie Frazier as the Interim Finance Director.  “Ms. Frazier has significant experience in the City’s Finance Department and is extremely familiar with the processes and issues associated with the Department.  I have complete confidence in her and her ability to lead the Department,” said Mayor McMillan.
