Austin Peay State University Employees share their recent Accomplishments

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University announce their recent professional and scholarly activities.

Dr. Clark Maddux, associate professor of early American literature, was elected recently as president of the APSU Woodward Library Society. Ellen Taylor in the College of Education was elected vice president.

Drs. Carter F. Smith and Jeffrey P. Rush, faculty members in the department of public management and criminal justice, attended the 2012 NGCRC 15th International Gang Specialist Training Conference from July 23rd-25th. Both provided several presentations related to gangs and organized crime in the community.

Smith was also an invited presenter to the Tennessee Alliance for Children and Families, Eighth Annual Education Conference “Achieving Success in the Face of Adversity,” held June 13th in Nashville. His presentation was titled “All grown up but still banging: What issues can we expect if they don’t ‘age out?’”
