The Lady Govs last competed in the 2010 running of one of the Midsouth’s larger events, finishing 23rd in the 32-team field.

Austin Peay’s women’s team returns a top-10 Ohio Valley Conference runner in junior Xiamar Richards, who will be searching for a second All-OVC bid this season. Richards, a Clarksville High School product, leads an upperclass-laden squad into a year of high expectations.

Seniors Chantelle Grey and Alyssa Molnar are expected to provide leadership, while juniors Miranda Weed and Kendra Kirksey return to provide a solid core of runners for head coach Doug Molnar. Freshman Alexis Eldrige is also in the mix for a top-five roster spot.

“We have a good group of juniors coming back,” Molnar said. “We have a lot of experience, which should serve us well. I think we’re going to be pretty good.”
