Junior Xiamar Richards turned in her 12th career top-40 finish at last week’s Brooks Memphis Twilight, leading the Lady Govs to a 12th-place team finish. She finished 35th in the five-kilometer event with a 20:14.00 run.

“Even with her effort, I thought she could’ve picked up a few spots last week,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “It’s all a learning experience and that’s what we talked to them about. We have to take what we learn each week and apply it to the next meet.”

Richards was a freshman during her last run at the Powerade Invitational and finished 19th overall, while junior Kendra Kirksey finished 33rd in the 2010 edition of the Powerade. Senior Alyssa Molnar and junior Miranda Weed also competed in 2010, where the Lady Govs finished sixth in the team standings.
