Austin Peay State University Lady GovsMurray, KY – Senior outside hitter Nikki Doyle led all hitters with 17 kills and Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team won a four-set (25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23) Ohio Valley Conference decision against Murray State, Tuesday night at Racer Arena.

Clarksville Police charge Mother after 3 Year old Child Shoots Himself

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 8th, 2012, around 9:50pm, Clarksville Police responded to a shooting at a Peachers Ridge Road address. When officers arrived, they found a child had shot himself in the abdomen.

The mother, Lisa Evans, has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. She turned herself in today, September 25th around 6:00pm.

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Denny Road Closure Planned for Wednesday

 

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water contractor will close Denny Road tomorrow morning at 8:00am to begin a sewer force main installation project. The road will be closed from 8:00am to 5:00pm between the Highway 41A Bypass and Birnam Wood Trace.

Traffic will be detoured to Highway 12 and East Old Ashland City Road for access to Denny Road and Birnam Wood Trace.

Clarksville Police have Two in Custody in Confrontation over a Balloon leads to Shots Fired case

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 24th, 2012 Clarksville Police responded to a shooting in the Barkwood Drive Area. Officers found that the shooting was over an argument about a two year old taking a balloon from a house that was going to be shown by a realtor. The suspects fled the area.

On September 25th, 2012, around 3:45pm, James Antonio Bagwell turned himself in to the Montgomery County Jail.

USS LST 325 docks in Clarkville at McGregor Park Boat Ramp

 

USS LST 325Clarksville, TN – This afternoon, September 25th, the USS LST 325 made it’s way down the Cumberland River from Nashville and docked at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp around 3:00pm. Crews began tying the boat off to the banks and preparing it for tomorrows tours. The ship will be available for tours September 26th-30th.

The LST (Landing Ship, Tank) is a floating monument to the past. The ship was used in various missions in World War II including the invasion of Sicily. Visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship as the crew provides a glimpse into her past.

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital staff participates in mandatory suicide prevention training September 27th

 

Limited Services Remain Open

Blanchfield Army Hospital - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital personnel join the Army-wide suicide prevention training effort September 27th. As hospital staff supports the worldwide focus to promote good health, teammate involvement, risk reduction and resilience training, BACH primary care and specialty care services will be closed.

The Town Center Pharmacy, inpatient services and the laboratory will remain open September 27th.

The Emergency Center continues to remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for acute and emergency medical care. Please remember that all patients should check into the Emergency Center for all emergency and urgent care needs.

Clarksville Gas and Water plans Jackson Road Closure

 

Wednesday-Friday, September 26th-28th, 2012

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water contractor will close Jackson Road tomorrow at 6:30am to begin a three-day water main line installation project.

The road will be closed daily from 6:30am to 5:30pm between Hudson Drive and Spencer Lane through Friday afternoon.

Westbound traffic will be detoured to Spencer Lane and Randell Drive and eastbound traffic will be detoured to Hudson Drive and Randell Drive during the daily work hours.

Clarksville Police report Confrontation over a Balloon leads to Shots Fired

 

Police Looking for Suspect

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 24th, 2012, around 5:30pm, Clarksville Police Officers responded to a shooting in progress call in the Barkwood Drive area.

When officers arrived on scene, the shooting suspects had already fled from the area in an older model light gray Ford Thunderbird. The 41 year old female and 24 year old male victims were still at the scene, unharmed.

Russ Shemberger takes 2nd overall at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park 5K run

 

Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, placed second overall and won his age group (45-49) at the Run Through the Forest 5K held Saturday, September 22nd at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs, KY.

A veteran triathlete, Shemberger recently finished the triathlon season and is now training for the Bowling Green Half-Marathon in Bowling Green, KY, along with a number of 5K races.

Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist with Restore Performance Massage, won his age group at the Run Through the Forest 5K held Saturday, September 22nd at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs, KY.
