Clarksville, TN – Tennessee State Senator Tim Barnes was named legislator of the year by the Tennessee Nurses Association.
Senator Barnes accepted the award Friday at the Tennessee Nurses Association convention in Franklin.“I am incredibly humbled to receive this honor from our nurses,” Senator Barnes said.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will cut the ribbon marking the official grand opening of Liberty Park on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012.
“I am so excited that we are going to host the official grand opening of Liberty Park next week,” said the Mayor. “I know people have already been enjoying the fishing pond, walking on the trails, and even practicing on the sports fields. Clarksville, TN – In a laboratory in the Czech Republic town of Pardubice, Austin Peay State University physics student James Winegar tried to strike up a conversation with a local Ph.D. student. Winegar, one of the few English speakers around, had spent much of the summer working on his Czech language skills, so he thought it was a good opportunity to practice a few phrases.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed the eastbound lane of College Street to traffic from North 1st Street to North 2nd Street for natural gas line maintenance. The lane will be closed until approximately 2:30pm.
Motorists are advised to be alert and aware of workers and equipment when approaching the work zone and to slow down and obey directional signs.

Clarksville, TN – Perched on a hay bale, Clarksville’s very own Pumpkin Lady supervised an assembly line of workers ranging in age from 6 to 60 as they unloaded and carefully placed the first shipment of 617 pumpkins at St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church (UMC) on September 30th.
For Kitty Seay, each one of these pumpkins is precious cargo, because each one of them holds the power to change lives.
Brentwood, TN – As part of the Ohio Valley Conference television schedule, Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team is scheduled to appear on ESPN platforms one time in the 2012-13 season.
That was announced on Thursday by the OVC office.
