Clarksville Police investigate Robbery at Madison Street Carwash

Woman Robbed after She finished Washing her Car

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Around 4:40 pm today, a woman was robbed while at National Carwash, 2305 Madison Street.

A 57 year old woman had finished washing her vehicle at the carwash, when a man wearing a red bandana over his face approached her and demanded money. He made an indication as though he had a handgun but never displayed it. She attempted to walk away from the man but he followed echoing his demand for money.

After he was given the money, he fled on foot toward a wooded area near the carwash. The woman who did not have a cell phone in her possession ran to the carwash attendant who called Clarksville Police. Police and K-9 arrived, combed the area, but did not locate the suspect.

After Detective Nathan Vanatta arrived and took over the investigation, there were other facts which came to light. It appears as though the robber waited until most of the bays were empty before approaching the victim.

There was also a 90s model, gold, Nissan Maxima located in the bay next to the victim which, upon investigation, had left the area without the vehicle being washed.

The suspect was described as a B/M, medium height and build, with shoulder length dreads, wearing a blue hoodie, and jeans.

Anyone with information can call the lead, Detective Nathan Vanatta, 931.648.0656, ext 5488 or the TIPSLINE, 931.645.8477.
