Morehead, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team closed out the road portion of its 2012 schedule with a 1-0 win, Friday, at Morehead State’s Jayne Stadium.
With the victory, Austin Peay (10-7-1, 6-2-1 OVC) reaches the 10-win plateau for the second time in school history, the first coming in the 2010 campaign that saw the Lady Govs reach the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship game for the first time in school history. Morehead State (1-12-4, 1-5-3 OVC), picked to finish third in the OVC in the preseason, was shut out for the seventh time this season.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol will plan for increased visibility and enforcement efforts on Halloween to ensure a safe and happy holiday for all Tennesseans.
Last year in Tennessee, no one was killed on Halloween between midnight, October 31st, 2011, through 6:00am, November 1st, 2011. That compares to one person killed in one crash on Halloween during the same time period in 2010.
“There is typically a dramatic increase in pedestrian traffic on Halloween. We want to remind motorists to slow down and watch for children on all roadways. Halloween should be a time for good family fun. Clarksville Gas and Water announces Temporary Closure of a Section of Oak Street and Trice Landing Park Planned

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water will close a section of Oak Street from the entrance of Trice Landing Park to the end of the street on Monday at 7:00am.

Clarksville Police reports Thieves Stealing Check and Money Orders from Apartment Complex Drop Boxes
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department reports that thieves stole checks and money orders from six different apartment complex drop boxes from various locations around Clarksville between September 27th – October 7th.
The thieves located the drop boxes and were able to extract checks and money orders from the inside of the locked boxes. So far, there has been over $7,200 reported stolen in the thefts. Since Police have been working the case, they discovered the same type of crime has occurred in Kentucky and Georgia.

Clarksville native Christian Albelo selected for U.S. U-15 Boys National Team Camp by Joga Bonito Foot-Skills Academy
Clarksville, TN – Joga Bonito Foot-Skills Academy is pleased to announce that former Clarksville resident Christian Albelo has been selected to the 36 player roster for the U.S. U-15 Boys National Team Training Camp.
The team’s training camp will begin October 27th through November 3rd at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Christian’s parents, as well as his former Joga Bonito Foot-Skills Academy Coach, Amilcar Castro, will be joining him in California to watch and show their support for the rising soccer star.
Clarksville, TN – The Cumberland Winds Concert Band will entertain with a variety of traditional and popular musical styles, including show tunes and music from movie scores, at 2:00pm on Saturday October 27th at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.
This is the second of three performances by several versions of the Cumberland Winds at the library, and will comprise the largest number of performers.
APSU College of Business to showcase Master of Science in Management Degree Program at Fall Open House November 15th
Clarksville, TN – Prospective students interested in learning more about the Master of Science in management degree program at Austin Peay State University are invited to an open house next month.
The College of Business will hold a fall open house from 5:30pm-7:00pm, Thursday, November 15th in the lobby of the Kimbrough Building. Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans welcome a cappella group Street Corner Symphony to perform during pregame on the Titans Party Stage and sing the National Anthem at Sunday’s game at LP Field.
Street Corner Symphony is an a cappella group based out of Nashville, Tennessee. They became internationally known in 2010 after becoming runners up on Season 2 of NBC’s all vocal competition, The Sing-Off.
