Gulf Shores, AL – A week ago when Austin Peay State University women’s golf team shot a 320, Lady Govs’ coach Sara Robson was displeased. This week the Lady Govs’ 321 score was acceptable.
Second Harvest Looks to set Record for Largest NFL Food Drive before the Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears game Sunday at LP Field
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans, UnitedHealthcare, Kroger and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee are teaming up this Sunday, November 4th at LP Field in hopes of having the largest NFL Food Drive. Titans fans can participate by donating non-perishable food items at LP Field prior to kick off.
“If every fan attending the game donates at least one can food item or jar of peanut butter, Titans fans could raise 68,000 pounds of food making it the largest food drive in the NFL and in our community,” said Jaynee Day, President and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. «Read the rest of this article»
Acuff Chair of Excellence recipient and Award Winning Writer David Huddle to read at APSU on November 8th
Clarksville, TN – Every autumn, the Library of Virginia honors some of the nation’s top writers with its annual Virginia Literary Awards. Previous winners include such noted authors as Richard Bausch, Barbara Kingsolver and Geraldine Brooks.
Earlier this month, the Library presented its 2012 Emyl Jenkins Sexton Literary Award for Fiction to another esteemed writer – Austin Peay State University’s 2012-13 Acuff Chair of Excellence recipient David Huddle.
Clarksville, TN – On October 28th, 2012, the Clarksville Police Department in conjunction with several community partners hosted a Trunk-or-Treat in the Operation Defiance area at the New Providence Community Policing Center.
It is part of the Police Department’s multifaceted efforts to build rapport and improve the quality of life in the Operation Defiance community.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s athletics marketing and promotions office has announced several exciting promotions for the upcoming month and it all starts with Governors Football.
APSU encourages fans to take part in AP Pride Day, Saturday. Along with Austin Peay’s Office of Admissions hosting more than 400 prospective students, Govs football hosts Culver-Stockton, 1:00pm, at Governors Stadium, followed by Lady Govs volleyball against Southeast Missouri at 4:30pm, and Govs basketball in exhibition action against Central Missouri at 7:30pm.

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Basketball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University basketball fans have not missed out on “Midnight Magic or Reigning Red,” as the two teams have hosted in the past.
This season, the athletics department, along with APSU’s Alumni Relations office and Wendy’s of Clarksville, is hosting its Peay Basketball Premiere, Thursday, at the Dunn Center.
Nashville, TN – Legendary Country music artist Charlie Daniels has released his latest single on Blue Hat Records, titled “Take Back The USA.”
Two versions of the single have been released, with one including a narrative of a bible verse from Chronicles 7-14. Listen to “Take Back the USA” on iTunes here.
Alabama’s Teddy Gentry and Charles English of Music Brothers Productions produced the song. Songwriter and multi instrumentalist Bobby Terry contributed lyrics, along with Gentry and English. Distributed through Megaforce Records/MRI and Sony/Red Distribution, the song is a plea to the people of the United States to “Take Back The USA.”
