Austin Peay State University employees share their recent professional news

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Three faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced publications or conferences attended as part of their professional and scholarly activities.

Dr. Sergei Markov, associate professor of biology, had four chapters published in a reference book, Applied Science. The four chapters are titled “Biofuels and Synthetic Fuels,” “Bioprocess Engineering,” “Industrial Fermentation” and “Metabolic Engineering.” This publication is designed for undergraduate students, high school students and anyone seeking or planning careers in the field.

Dr. Melony Shemberger, assistant director of communication and adjunct faculty member in the department of communication, attended a conference, “Online Teaching: Education Without Walls,” held October 26th at Murray State University.

Dr. Carter F. Smith, assistant professor of public management and criminal justice, presented a talk, titled “Gangs and the Use of Technology” during the 2012 SkyDogCon Hacker/Maker (Technology) Conference held October 26th in Nashville, Tennessee.
