Montgomery County announces Veterans Day Parade

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 10th, with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9:00am in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville.

Guest speaker is Colonel Jimmy Blackmon, incoming Brigade Commander for the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade.  There will also be remarks by Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and Clarksville City Mayor Pro tem Geno Grubbs.

This year’s parade theme is “Honoring All Who Served.”  with special commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, May 28th, 2012 through November 11th, 2025, as stated in a proclamation signed by President Barack Obama on May 25th, 2012.

There is a change in the parade route and ceremonies this year.  The parade will begin at 10:00am at the corner of North Eighth Street and College Street, next to the Sundquist Science Building at Austin Peay State University, with the reviewing stand at the Third Street side of the courthouse.  The parade will proceed up College, left onto University Avenue, right onto Main Street, left onto South Third Street, left onto Commerce Street, left onto University Avenue, right onto Franklin Street, left onto 8th Street and back to the APSU parking area.
