Clarksville Police reports Two Incidents of Car Windows being Shattered along Interstate 24

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department wants to make the public aware that there have been two incidents of vehicles traveling on I-24 westbound between mile marker 9 and 10 when their driver side windows were shattered.

On November 9th, 2012, around 1:00pm, a man from out of state was driving westbound on I-24 in an F-250 pickup westbound and when his driver side window was shattered between mile marker 9 and 10.

The window was not completely broken, but had a small size hole in the window. He said he did not see anyone along the interstate area when he looked around. He went to a local store taped the window and proceeded on to his destination.

On November 17th, 2012, around 9:15am, a 69 year old woman, from Eagleville, TN was driving a 2007 Chevy Impala on westbound I-24 between mile marker 9 and 10, heard a popping sound, and then the driver side window glass shattered from a spot near the front mirror.

Clarksville Police Officers arrived and thoroughly checked the vehicle inside and out, but did not find any  projectiles or indication of anything being shot at the vehicle.

The Clarksville Police Department, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office checked the area and did not find anyone in the vicinity.

Police just wants to ensure the public was aware of the two incidents since they occurred in the same approximate vicinity. There is nothing to indicate intentional acts associated with either incident and officers will be keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity occurring in the area.
