In it’s first week since the premiere, the video for “Butterfly” has already received nearly 2,000 views! Walker’s goal of 5,000 views seems to be in sight with such a great momentum from the launch party. Since Walker is an independent artist, she has asked her Facebook friends and Twitter followers to be her champions in helping to make the video viral. The first 1,000 views were reached in 48 hours!

The story behind the song, “Butterfly” is what has created such interest in this video. The song tells of a little girl who has a hard time in the classroom, getting picked on and feeling left out. Throughout the story, you can see her transformation as she realizes that she is beautiful. This message of true beauty and self confidence has inspired girls of all ages.

“Butterfly” was co-written by Walker and producer Curt Ryle. The album they recorded together was written and produced in Clarksville. Ryle has written hit songs for numerous country artists through the years, including “Storm in the Heartland” sung by Billy Ray Cyrus, and “The Real McCoy” for George Jones. With Ryle’s coaching and artist development, Lydia’s album “Beloved” is the recording she is most proud of.

Walker, born and raised in this area, feels very strongly about including Clarksville in her music projects. Last year, she released a video for her song, “When I Dance” that was filmed at the Smith-Trahern mansion downtown. The new video also includes Clarksville locations. Most of the scenes were filmed at Liberty Park and at Grace Church of the Nazarene on Trenton Rd. “Butterfly” was filmed by a company called Thrive Creations out of Brentwood, TN, and all of the actors were local talent and friends of Lydia.
