Clarksville Police report 86 year old Women killed in Crash at Hwy 76 and Old Farmers Road

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On November 24th, 2012, around 4:02pm, a 2007 Chevy Impala, driven by Evelyn Ray, 86, of Bowling Green, KY was traveling north on Old Farmers Road, crossed eastbound Hwy 76, failing to yield to an oncoming 1999 Ford Mustang, driven by Maurice Pitts, 26, of Clarksville, TN.

The Mustang collided with the Impala between the driver’s side front tire and door.

There were no signs of braking for either driver.  Both were wearing seatbelts.

Evelyn Ray was taken by Lifeflight by Vanderbilt Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Maurice Pitts was taken by EMS to Gateway Medical Center with multiple leg fractures and was transferred to Vanderbilt by ambulance.

The lead investigator is Officer Melissa Spielhagen.

This is the 15th fatality crash for 2012.
