Campbell Crossing receives Kentucky Governor’s Safety Award

Team has reached one million work hours without a loss time incident

Campbell CrossingFort Campbell, KY – Campbell Crossing, a partnership formed between the Department of the Army and property and infrastructure provider, Lend Lease as part of the housing privatization initiative, is pleased to announce that it has, been named a recipient of the Kentucky Governor’s Safety and Health Award.

To be eligible for the award, a company must be free of any serious safety or health violations for a minimum period of 24 months. Campbell Crossing qualified for the award by maintaining an incident and injury-free work environment from September 2010 through today. This resulted in reaching one million work hours with no loss time incident or injury.

“Campbell Crossing is very proud to receive this prestigious award,” said Brain Egbert, Project Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Campbell Crossing. “We could not have reached this colossal goal without everyone remaining focused, and caring for their fellow workers. Every member of the team knows that this record belongs to them and is a direct result of their efforts. It is something that all should be very proud of.”

Egbert added that this number was reached through a variety of ways, including education and empowerment of all workers to look for safety hazards in their daily work and having the power to stop anything that they feel is unsafe.

“Each individual who works at Campbell Crossing is trained on Lend Lease Global Minimum Requirements for Safety, Pre-Task Planning, workplace hazards and other safety tips and techniques that play a vital role in ensuring their safety. Lend Lease’s safety philosophy is really quite simple – every worker deserves the right to go home in the same condition they came to work,” he said.

Brian Peterson, Lend Lease Senior Vice President and Director of Environment Health & Safety added, “Lend Lease takes great pride in our Injury and Incident Free culture within our company. The team at Campbell Crossing is another example of the dedication to safety found all across Lend Lease.”

In addition to the Governor’s Safety Award, Lend Lease Public Partnerships was recently honored with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Award. The AGC organization placed Lend Lease first in the state of Tennessee for its commitment to innovative safety practices throughout the projects it oversees.
