LBL to host “Fort Henry 151st Anniversary Program”

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Visit Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area to get outdoors and learn more about the American Civil War.

The popular Fort Henry Anniversary Program will take place on Saturday, February 9th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Come learn about the construction, the battle, and the legacy of Fort Henry during the event’s 151st Anniversary with invited historian, Susan “Ski” Witzofsky.

Meet at The Homeplace, a living history farm in the TN portion of LBL.

  • Interpretive center and gift shop will be open for this program; Farm site will be closed
  • Doors open at 12:30pm; theater program begins at 1:00pm
  • $4.00/adults and $2.00/children
  • Registration and full deposit required. Call 270.924.2020 to reserve your space.

In February of 1862, “Between the Rivers” was bracing for war. Confederate forces occupied Fort Henry with Federal forces moving up the Tennessee River. Following the program, visitors may wish to take the self-guided tour of the Fort Henry Area; directions will be provided upon request.

Land Between the Lakes

Come Outside and Play at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. Managed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Land Between The Lakes provides outdoor recreation, lake access, and environmental education for the public to enjoy.
