APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Chattanooga, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team returned to action at Chattanooga, Friday, but were soundly defeated by the Lady Mocs in a 7-0 loss. The Lady Govs drop to 0-2 on the season.
It was a tough day for the Lady Govs, who did not force a third set in any singles match. The No. 3 match between junior Andra Cornea and the Lady Mocs Kayla Jones was the closest of the day, with Cornea falling 3-6, 3-6.Cornea and sophomore Ornella Di Salvo held it close in No. 1 doubles, falling 5-8 to Jones and Kelsey Coots. However, the next two doubles pairs did not take a set in either loss.
Austin Peay has a quick turnaround, traveling to Evansville for a 7:00pm match against the Purple Aces, Saturday.
