Hike, Bike, Climb and Canoe with Fort Campbell’s Outdoor Recreation in March

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs for some of the great activities they have planned for March. They’ll start the month off with a Kings Bluff Climbing Trip on March 2nd from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Everyone age 12 and up is invited to participate.

Kings Bluff is a scenic two mile crag located just 15 minutes from post. The cost is $35.00 and includes transportation and equipment.  Please bring appropriate clothing, water, snacks, and a packed lunch. This trip is geared toward beginners so all are welcome.  Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on February 28th.

Mountain Biking Trip

On March 9th, you can go for a Lock Four Mountain Biking trip. The bus will leave at 9:00am and return at 3:00pm. Ages 14 and up may participate. The cost is $25.00 and includes transportation, helmet and bike.  Located in Gallatin, Tennessee, Lock Four is one of the best mountain biking destinations in the Nashville area.

With over eight miles of exciting single track on Old Hickory Lake, Lock Four has something to offer cyclists of all levels of experience. Don’t forget to bring closed toe shoes, water and a packed lunch or snack. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on March 7th.

Rock Climbing 101

If you are interested in learning to rock climb then you’ll want to sign-up for Climbing 101 on March 13th.  This clinic will meet from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on the newly constructed indoor rock wall. Ages 12 and above may participate.

The cost is $10.00 and all equipment will be supplied. The clinic will cover equipment, belay instruction, safety precautions, as well as technique. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on March 11th.

Hunter’s Safety Course

Ages 9 and over are invited to attend the Hunter’s Safety Course on March 16th. This course is free and no reservations are required for attendance. The class will take place at Sportsman’s Lodge and will be first come/first served. Participants are not required to bring anything; however, everyone needs to know their Social Security Number.

Hiking

Fall Creek Falls State Park, located in Pikeville, Tennessee, is a spectacular sight and includes the largest waterfall in the eastern United States. Ages 10 and above are invited to join Outdoor Recreation for a Fall Creek Falls Day Hike on March 16th from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The cost is $25.00 and includes transportation.

Please wear closed toe shoes and bring plenty of water and a packed lunch or snack. Don’t forget your camera!  Preregistration is required by 12:00pm on March 14th.

Dog Hike

Whether your pooches are large or small, they will love spending time with you on this Outdoor Recreation Dog Hike. This cost is $5.00 and will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm on March 23rd. All dogs must remain leashed.  Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on March 21st.

Canoe Trip

On March 30th from 8:00am to 5:00pm, everyone in your Family, ages 6 and up, can enjoy the breathtaking scenery and Family friendly Duck River Family Canoe Trip. The cost is $25.00 per person and includes transportation and equipment. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on March 28th.

Upcoming trips to look forward to are Sky Diving, Ocoee Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking 101.
