Clarkville Police update on the Missing Child Located today

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police have very little information to add to the events involving the missing nine year old. The child was interviewed and did not provide any insight into her departure from the house.

At this point, it appears as though the child left the residence on her own volition sometime before 5:00am. When the grandfather woke at 5:00am, he found the front door standing open and the nine year olds bedroom door open and the child was gone.

The child’s mother and grandfather immediately searched the neighborhood and notified Police when the child could not be located.

Despite a heavy Police presence searching for the child, the nine year old remained unseen until she showed up at 204 Edmondson Ferry Road around 6:30 am with wet socks and damp clothing.

The woman at 204 Edmondson Ferry Road did not know the child and attempted to determine where the child lived, made her breakfast, and called Police around 9:00am after being unsuccessful locating the child’s residence.

Since the investigation is in the early stages, the child will remain in Tennessee Department of Children’s Services custody until additional information is gathered. There have not been any charges filed.

The lead investigator is Detective Chris Nolder.
