Sanchez joins the Lady Govs from Central (California) High School, where she was a second-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference in 2012 after leading her squad with eight goals and 11 assists en route to a 24-4 record, ranked 24th in California by MaxPreps.com.

A third-generation native of Mexico, Sanchez has traveled back to Mexico to train with and be evaluated by the Mexican National Team’s soccer program.

Sanchez adds depth to an already loaded Lady Govs midfield. Austin Peay returns seniors Natalia Ariza, Joceline Quiceno and Morgan Zigelsky, with Sanchez, Emily Anderson, Brianna Avitabile, Mary Ruth Locastro, Courtney Sheppard, Kate Siddall and Natalie Smith all slated to join the Lady Govs in the fall.

“We think Megan can add something to our offensive game in the fall,” said head coach Kelley Guth. “She’s a very technical player who had a great history of success in California. She’s also been evaluated on the national level by Mexico. She’ll be a huge asset for us.”
