An assortment of schools, including Ohio Valley Conference foes Eastern Illinois, Murray State, SIU Edwardsville and Tennessee Tech, will be in attendance, as well as the host Hilltoppers, who won the 2013 Sun Belt Indoor Championship. The field events, beginning with the discus, start the morning, while the track events begin a rolling schedule at 11:00am.

When last the Lady Govs took the track, sophomore Erika Adams and freshman Breigh Jones won the 100m and 400m dashes while also leading the Lady Govs 4x100m relay team to a second-place finish at the APSU Invitational. Juniors Xiamar Richards (800m run) Natalie Olberding (400m hurdles) and seniors Nichole Bressner (pole vault) and Lauren Lyles (long jump) also picked up victories.

Austin Peay hasn’t been at Western Kentucky since 2009, when Leeann White finished third in the long jump. The Lady Govs went to the Sea Ray Relays on this weekend in 2012, with Kendra Kirksey’s school-record 11:27.04 mark in the 3000m steeplechase earning her a seventh-place finish.

One Lady Gov will return to the Sea Ray Relays this year. Senior Chantelle Grey will run the 800m run in Knoxville, where she will try to improve her standing in the NCAA East Region rankings; Grey currently ranks 39th, thanks to her 2:09.03 mark at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold. She’s scheduled to compete at 5:30pm, Friday.

Adams and Jones both rank sixth in their respective events, while Grey leads the conference in the 800m and 1500m runs. Olberding, a mid-year transfer from Iowa Western, leads the OVC in the 400m hurdles. Bressner’s personal-best 3.50m mark at the APSU Invitational ties her for fifth in the conference.
