Tennessee Titans announce Titans Caravan Schedule

Titans Quarterback Jake Locker launches team’s tour through the Mid-South on April 29th

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have announced the complete itinerary for the Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan, a regional series of school visits and free, public autograph signings. The Caravan will make 44 total stops in Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama from April 29th through May 10th.

The Titans Caravan will be in Clarksville, TN at the Krogers, located at 2100 Lowes Drive, on Tuesday April 30th starting at 5:30pm.

Tennessee Titans T-Rac was with the Titans Caravan when it rolled into Clarksville April 30th, 2012. T-Rac was by throngs of fans at the Kroger at 1489 Madison Street.

Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan public stops are free events that allow fans to meet players, T-Rac and the “Voice of the Titans” Mike Keith.  Posters are provided at no cost to all Caravan attendees for autographs, and photos are encouraged. Public stops generally last one hour.

Quarterback Jake Locker is scheduled to kick off the Caravan on April 29th with a public autograph signing at Kroger in Bowling Green (350 West 31 Bypass). He then will continue to the Academy Sports + Outdoors locations in Mount Juliet (549 Pleasant Grove Road) and Smyrna (1150 Genie Lane).

A different player (or players) appear on the Caravan each day. The other players participating this year will be announced at a later time.

In addition to the public gatherings, the Titans will perform 22 school programs throughout the region that are expected to reach approximately 12,000 students. The program is based on the NFL’s Play 60 initiative, which encourages youth to get at least 60 minutes of active play each day. The school program delivers a high-energy, educational message from eight-time Pro Bowl Titans mascot T-Rac, host Rhett Bryan and representatives from Tennessee State Parks. A Titans player also typically appears.

In addition to the Play 60 elements, audience members receive a message about making good choices in all parts of their lives.  They also get up-close looks at Tennessee wildlife in the care of Tennessee State Parks, as well as information on nearby state parks.

There will be one additional stop on the Caravan of a unique nature: an appearance in front of 6,000 children at Safe Kids Health and Awareness Day on May 9th at Tennessee Smokies Park. The stop is in conjunction with the Tennessee Smokies-Birmingham Barons baseball game.

Titans Caravan began in 1998 as a small effort to spread goodwill through the region. Today, seven full-time staffers travel with Titans players and T-Rac through the Mid-South on a specially-decorated motor coach provided by Grand Avenue. Since 1998, the Caravan has made over 750 stops, visited more than 300 schools and allowed the team to interact directly with an estimated audience well in excess of 120,000 fans.
