Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

35th Annual Queen City Road Race this Saturday

35th Annual Queen City Road RaceThe 35th Annual Queen City Road Race is Saturday, May 4th. The Queen City Road Race is not just a running competition; it is a promotion for fitness and health in the Clarksville community.

Race Day will begin at 8:00am at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium. This year’s race includes the 5K race, 5K relay race, non-competitive One Mile Movement, and new 7K race!

Registration for the 5K, 7K and One Mile Movement is available through Race Day at www.cityofclarksville.com/qcrr.

Front Entrance Renovations

Please pardon our construction as we are renovating our front counter area. All patrons are asked to please use the 102 Public Square entrance.

Summer Pool Passes

Did you know that pool passes are on sale year round? If you’re preparing for your summer pool visits, don’t forget your pool pass!

  • Want to save some time in line? Here are tips to cut your wait time.
  • Create or update your family’s account online at http://RecPro.CityofClarksville.com.
  • Email a photo of each family member on your pool pass (with their names) to ParksRec@cityofclarksville.com. We can add them to your account before you arrive.
  • Bring your completed form with you. A printable registration form is available at http://RecPro.CityofClarksville.com under the “Links” section.

Liberty Park Restroom Repair

The restrooms at the King’s Run Bark Park at Liberty Park will be temporarily closed due to mechanical repair. The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hopes to reopen the restrooms by Monday, April 29th.

50 Plus Olympics Early Bird Deadline Approaches

2013 Clarksville 50+ OlympicsBe sure and register for the 2013 50 Plus Olympics! The Early Bird registration deadline is April 29th. After April 29th, registration goes from $20.00 to $25.00 for each participant and includes t-shirt, goody bag and one closing dinner ticket. Additional dinner tickets are available for purchase.

This event is open to those at least 50-years-old and will take place at various locations in Clarksville. You don’t have to be a pro to compete! Competitors can enjoy golf, bowling, table tennis, pickleball, basketball, badminton, horseshoes, shuffleboard, swimming events, track & field events, disc golf, cornhole, lawn darts and ladderball. Competitors can also enjoy a delicious and fun meal at the closing dinner!

Hershey Track & Field

Hershey Track and FieldHershey Track & Field practices are underway every Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Burt-Cobb Community Center, located at 1101 Franklin Street. Practices will be held through May 16th. The local competition will be held at 9:00am May 18th at the Rossview High School Track.

Athletes placing first in the local competition advance to the district competition and compete for a place in the statewide competition. Practice attendance is not mandatory to compete in the local competition on May 18th.

Applications are available at the Parks and Recreation office or any of our three community centers.
