Montgomery County Master Gardener program Accepting Applications for Fall Class Sessions

UT Extension OfficeMontgomery County, TN – The Tennessee Master Gardener Program is a volunteer service program provided by the University of Tennessee Extension.

The program serves Tennesseans with home horticulture information and recruits new volunteers for training, certification and service through the local Extension offices.

Please keep in mind that this is a volunteer based organization that depends greatly on your time and commitment to the program.

You will be required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service and earn 8 Continuing Education Units within the first year after the class sessions to receive your official Master Gardener certification.  The volunteer hours and responsibilities will be reviewed on orientation night to clarify any questions.

All classes will be held at the Montgomery County Extension office on Tuesday evenings 6:00pm-9:00pm beginning August 27th and ending November 19th.

Please read the following very carefully:

  • Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Completed applications & payment must be received by August 6th, 2013.
  • The first sixty (60) completed applications received will be automatically accepted into the class.
  • All others will be place on a waiting list and notified if there is an opening.
  • The fee for the class is $100.00 or $125.00 for couples.

Please remit payment with your application!  Checks are payable to Montgomery County Extension.

Once your application has been received, you will be sent a letter notifying you whether or not you have been accepted into the class this year.
