River Cats starter Bruce Billings (3-2) turned in a quality start to post the victory, striking out eight batters while allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings of action. It marked the right-hander’s third quality start in his last four outings.

The grass area in front of the market was filled with tents, grills, barrels and all kinds of barbecue cooking equipment.
People from miles around come out to the BBQ Cook-Off. There was plenty of food to be had as most of the grillers were selling barbecue as well as competing. Anything from bbq sandwich, hamburger, hotdogs, ribeye sandwiches, bbq by the pound, etc were available for purchase.

Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County Dog Behavior Seminar registration deadline extended to Wednesday, May 15th

Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County will be hosting a Dog Behavior Seminar on Saturday, May 18th. The event will be held at the Humane Society Conference Room. The deadline for registration has been moved to Wednesday, May 15th.
The popular Nashville-based dog trainer and consultant, Nikki Ivey, will be there for a daylong seminar that will help both dog owners and rescue volunteers and fosters to better understand dog language and communication.
Clarksville, TN – Trice Landing Park, located at 99 Oak Street, reopened Monday. The boat ramp and dock will remain closed but the park area will be open for public use.

2013 Youth Fishing Events scheduled throughout Tennessee
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2013 at the Liberty Park Pond for youth 0 to 16 years of age. The rodeo will be from 8:00am until 11:00am.

Clarksville, TN – On May 11th, 2013, the Clarksville Police Department received a complaint that someone had damaged the Doughboy Statue and taken the Rifle. The Statue is located at 200 Legion Street in front of the Clarksville Transit System Transit Center. Apparently it was done during the night.

Clarksville, TN – Andrew Beaudoin, a German major at Austin Peay State University, has been selected to receive the Clarksville Edelweiss Club Scholarship for 2013-14.
He was honored during an awards ceremony at the Edelweiss Clubhouse on May 8th and received a check from Debbie Whitaker, president of the Clarksville Edelweiss Club.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water construction crews have closed Golf Club Lane from Drinkard Drive to Old Ashland City Road until 1:30pm this afternoon. Crews are replacing approximately twenty feet of sewer main on Golf Club closing all lanes of traffic.
Motorists will be detoured to Drinkard Drive and Old Ashland City Road.
