APSU Track and Field has Two Lady Govs ready for NCAA East Preliminary Championship

Fort Campbell Blanchfield Army Community Hospital observes Memorial Day

 

Blanchfield Army Hospital - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – In honor of the national observance of Memorial Day, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) personnel will observe the federal holiday Monday, May 27th, therefore all clinics and pharmacies will be closed. The Emergency Center will remain open to provide acute and emergency medical care.

BACH medical services will remain open Friday, May 24th.

Austin Peay State University’s 16th Annual APSU Ladies Golf Tournament a success

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The quartet of Cindy Taylor, Gina Deere, Tonya Wells and Christy Glaser shot a 10-uner par 62 to win the 16th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament, Wednesday, at Swan Lake Golf Course.

The four-person scramble was sponsored by Austin Peay State University to raise awareness for women’s athletics.

Clarksville Police take Two Juveniles into Custody for Robbery

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – This morning two juveniles on their way to the Alternative School robbed a downtown businessman on his way to work. The Suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts and used a pellet gun.

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System gets Grant to Cover Dual Enrollment Costs for STEM Academy, Middle College Students

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemNashville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has received a $40,000 grant to pay for STEM Academy and Middle College High School’s students’ fees for dual enrollment in college courses.

The Tennessee College Access and Success Network awarded a total of $412,426 this week to six schools, two higher education institutions and four nonprofits in its third annual grant competition, raising the total amount of Race to the Top funds awarded by the Network to more than $1.6 million. «Read the rest of this article»

Evening Programs Return to LBL’s Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Take a trip to Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area to experience Planetarium shows and Star Parties presented by the Land Between The Lakes Association beginning May 25th, 2013, at the Golden Pond Planetarium located in the Golden Pond Visitor Center.

Starry Night programs begin with a stunning planetarium theater presentation in the 40-foot dome planetarium, then a live viewing of the night sky (weather permitting) through a 16-inch, Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at the Golden Pond Observatory. Members of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (WKAA) will also be hosting in depth Star Party astronomy programs.

Clarksville to hold first-ever Civil War Summer Camp at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center

 

Fort Defiance Interpretive CenterClarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, is proud to host the City’s first Civil War Summer Camp for youth in the 5th and 6th grades.

The Civil War Summer Camp, instructed by Karel Biggs, focuses on the American Civil War.  Students will learn more about the people, events, vocabulary, songs, food, drills, clothing and flags associated with the War.

Tim Shaw appointed Director of Montgomery County Human Resources

 

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Mayor’s Office is pleased to announce that Tim Swaw has been selected as the new Director of Human Resources. He has most recently been serving as Human Resources Manager for a local industry since 2007.
