Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds held on to an early four-run lead Wednesday night at Greer Stadium to defeat the visiting Iowa Cubs by a 4-3 margin.

The Sounds put two runs on the board in the first inning via outfielder Josh Prince’s double down the left-field line. The hit scored Caleb Gindl, who singled on a grounder into right field, and Stephen Parker, having reached base on balls.

Tennessee Department of Transportation Maintenance Work for Montgomery County area starting May 30th, 2013

 

Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – In Montgomery County, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will be doing resurfacing and bridge deck repair on I-24 from SR 76 to the Robertson County Line.

APSU Golfer Dustin Korte plays better in second round of NCAA Tournament

Don’t tell that to a flock of friends and family members who made the junket from Massac County, IL, to watch Korte play in the NCAA Championships, being played at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Crossland Avenue Lane Closure

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed the outer southbound lane of Crossland Avenue between South Second Street and Charlotte Street until approximately 3:30pm to repair a water main leak.

No water outage is expected, but area residents may experience low water pressure.

Austin Peay State University Offers New Graduate Degree

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – This fall, Austin Peay State University will offer a new graduate degree that will bring together science and business skills to give students a greater competitive advantage in the workforce.  The Professional Science Masters, or PSM, will enable students to pursue advanced training in science or mathematics while developing workplace skills.

The PSM at APSU will be a fully online degree program, allowing students to work on a degree while continuing to hold employment. Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, May 29th, 2013, the Clarksville Police Department made 3 arrests in connection with the May 18th homicide of Jimmy Boyer.  Arrested were Coray Knight 38 years old from Clarksville, Frederick Persinger 65 years old from Clarksville, and Kelly Hufford 45 years old from Oak Grove KY.
