Sgt. Jose L. Orozco (left), and Spc. Jonathan D. Gragert were named Non-Commissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year during a ceremony, June 3, at Fort Campbell, Ky., and their pictures hang in the atrium of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) headquarters building. Both Soldiers received an Army Commendation Medal along with gifts from the 101st and other organizations. Orozco and Gragert competed against the division’s top Soldiers during a 34-hour-long event which included events such as weapons qualification, day and night land navigation, combatives, oral board and an Army physical fitness test. Orozco, a Houstonian, serves as a technical instructor with Company B., 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st.
