Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in conjunction with Fort Campbell conducts Emergency Exercise

Blanchfield Army Hospital - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s personnel are leading an installation-wide Emergency Exercise from 7:30am to noon June 25th.

Emergency exercises are conducted to not only prepare both installation-wide and hospital personnel but they also help meet Joint Commission requirements so hospitals around the country remain in compliance with critical training preparedness.

The Fort Campbell community may notice an increase of emergency vehicles and personnel near 4th Brigade Combat Team, off of Toccoa Road.

The 4th Brigade Combat Team will serve as a critical partner in the emergency exercise. Emergency vehicle movement will continue across post and around the hospital during the morning hours June 25th until the Exercise is completed.

Although there will be an increase of activity around the hospital’s Emergency Center entrance, hospital officials remind patients not to be alarmed as exercise participants will be displaying simulated injuries. Hospital personnel will be moving exercise participants throughout the facility as they practice providing the appropriate medical service as part of the exercise.

In addition to partnering with 4th Brigade Combat Team and Fort Campbell’s Garrison services, community emergency responders outside Fort Campbell have also agreed to participate.

“It is important for our staff to participate in exercises with our surrounding communities so that we can foster partnerships and continue to remain fully prepared for emergencies,” said BACH commander Col. Paul R. Cordts.
