Nashville Sounds begin Four-Game Homestand Thursday, July 11th

Featuring 2 Fireworks Shows, 2 Giveaways and the I-40 Cup Series Finale

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium on Thursday, July 11th, for their seventh homestand of the season. The stand will feature one four-game series against the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) spanning July 11th-14th.

The series will be the finale of the four-part Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series, which is currently knotted at six wins apiece between the two clubs. Whoever wins the most games in the season series will be awarded the silver I-40 Cup. Nashville is the current holder, winning 9-7 in 2012. The Sounds will retain the cup with a season series spilt.

Thursday, July 11th

Nashville Sounds vs. Memphis Redbirds
7:05pm (Gates Open at 6:05pm)

To open the homestand with the Redbirds, the Sounds will wear retro blue jerseys for BURGER KING Throwback Thursday, when fans can purchase hot dogs, fountain drinks, beer, popcorn and nachos for just $2.00 apiece.

In addition, fans can receive a $5.00 general admission ticket by presenting a BK receipt at the Advance Financial Box Office. College students may also receive the Throwback Thursday discounted ticket with a valid student ID.

Friday, July 12th

Nashville Sounds vs. Memphis Redbirds
7:05pm (Gates Open at 5:35pm)

Friday night marks the fifth Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHT at Greer Stadium and will feature a pregame concert from Hawk Nelson. The concert will take place on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance approximately one hour before the first pitch.

The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a special Sounds t-shirt, presented by Vanderbilt Sports Medicine.

Friday also marks the first of two Summer Reading Club games this homestand, offering students the chance to participate in an on-field, pre-game parade with Ozzie. Many children have spent time reading at local libraries enrolled in the program this summer and hundreds of the participants will be in attendance.

The night will conclude with a postgame Friday Fireworks Extravaganza.

Saturday, July 13th

Nashville Sounds vs. Memphis Redbirds
6:35pm (Gates Open at 5:05pm)

The second giveaway of the homestand takes place on Saturday, when the first 1,000 fans to the park will receive Sounds cowbells courtesy of the Tennessee Beef Council and McDonald’s. The game will be followed by a fireworks show, powered by Nashville’s NEWS 2.

Following the festivities, more than 1,500 Boy Scouts from the greater Nashville area will take to Greer Stadium’s outfield to meet Sounds players before setting up camp and staying overnight for the team’s annual Boy Scout Night. In the morning, Scouts will be treated to breakfast.

Sunday, July 14th

6:35pm (Gates Open at 5:35pm)

Sunday marks the Sounds fourth Autograph Day. The autograph session with members of the Sounds team and coaching staff will take place on field beginning at 5:45pm.

In addition, the game will be a Piedmont Natural Gas Military Sunday presented by Tennessee 811. The Sounds will wear camouflage jerseys, while servicemen/women, veterans, and their families receive $5.00 off reserved or general admission tickets with a valid Military ID; limit 5 discounted tickets per ID.

Also taking place on Sunday will be the Sounds Faith and Family Sundays, where fans can receive $5.00 off tickets by presenting a church or community bulletin at the Sounds Advance Financial Box Office; limit eight discounted tickets per bulletin.

The final Summer Reading Club on-field parade with Ozzie will precede Sunday’s game.

Following the homestand, the Sounds and the Pacific Coast League take a three-day break to celebrate the league’s All-Stars in Reno, NV, where closer Rob Wooten will represent Nashville in Wednesday’s Triple-A All-Star Game. Following the festivities, Nashville will play a four-game series in New Orleans (Marlins affiliate) before baseball returns to Greer Stadium on Monday, July 22nd.
