Nashville, TN – Speaker Pro Tempore Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville) announced that the State Building Commission has approved the final details of the funding for the Tennessee Veterans Home slated for Montgomery County.
“I’m very pleased to see that the State Building Commission has finalized these details for the Tennessee Veterans Home,” said Rep. Johnson. “Montgomery County has a long and proud history of supporting those who serve in our military and put themselves in harm’s way to preserve our freedoms. This project speaks to that commitment to serve our men and women of the armed forces.”
The 108 bed facility will provide skilled nursing care for veterans from across the state of Tennessee. The total projected cost of the project is estimated to be just under $27 million.
“This project is vitally important in ensuring we provide our Tennessee veterans with the skilled care they deserve,” said House Speaker Beth Harwell (R-Nashville). “I am proud of the State Building Commission for approving this important funding, and I thank Speaker Pro Tempore Johnson for his support of this project.”
Curtis Johnson serves District 68 in the Tennessee House of Representatives, which encompasses part of Montgomery County. The small business owner is a veteran of the United States Navy, and currently serves as Speaker Pro Tempore of the House of Representatives, a position to which he was elected by his House colleagues.
