APSU Golf has Five Players Qualify for Tennessee State Amateur Golf Tournament

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Five Austin Peay State University men’s golfers have qualified for the Tennessee State Amateur, that will be played at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, August 6th-9th.

Rising seniors Anthony Bradley and Trey Tarpley along with sophomores Chris Baker, Austin Kramer and Cleve Guinn all will be part of the 156-player field. A sixth Governor, sophomore Korey Smith, is an alternate for the tournament. Tourney qualifying has been held at seven different sites around the state.

The four-day tourney field will be cut to 60 players after the Wednesday, August 7th round. The tourney’s championship round will be held on Friday, August 8th on the par-72 course.

APSU golf is coming off a record-setting season that not only saw the Govs win six tourney titles, including the Ohio Valley Conference title, but finished tied for seventh at the NCAA Tempe Regional, the program’s best NCAA tourney finish, with senior Dustin Korte playing in the NCAA Championships in late May.
