Nashville’s Johnny Hellweg Nabs Ninth Win In 3-2 Victory
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds held on to defeat the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes by a margin of 3-2 Thursday night at Greer Stadium to give Nashville the 2-2 series split.
Tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, Cole Garner helped the Sounds pull ahead with a double to the gap in right-center field, plating Kentrail Davis, who reached base on balls. Starting pitcher Johnny Hellweg (9-4) pushed a sacrifice bunt, his second of the night, to advance Garner to third. Josh Prince hit a sac-fly to drive in Garner and give the Sounds a 3-1 lead.
Commissioner William H. (Dusty) Roden, Jr. Dies at Age 90
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder somberly announced former Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner William H. (Dusty) Roden, Jr. passed away on July 20th, 2013 at the Hospice Chattanooga Care Center. Commissioner Roden was 90 years old.
Roden served in the United States Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot from 1942 to1945 and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force Reserves in 1972.

Prior to air conditioning being widely available, locals would gather at Dunbar Cave to enjoy the cool air gently blowing from the mouth of the cave. Many concerts were held there as people would fellowship and beat the heat of summer.

Fans have access to 12 total practices over three weeks at Saint Thomas Sports Park
Nashville, TN – The Titans are scheduled to begin training camp this week at Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville. Rookies and veterans report to camp on Wednesday, July 24th, and will take the field for the first time on Thursday, July 25th.
Fans of the Titans can get their first glimpse of the 2013 squad on Friday, July 26th, the first of 12 total training camp practices that will be free for the public to attend. Training camp is the only time of the year that practices are open to the general public.

Clarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water construction crew has turned off water service and closed Franklin Street to traffic between Tenth Street and South Eleventh Street to repair a water main line leak. The work is anticipated to be complete in approximately 2-3 hours.
Traffic will be detoured to Franklin Street and Eleventh Street.
