Tennessee Titans Training Camp open to the Public on Friday, July 26th

Fans have access to 12 total practices over three weeks at Saint Thomas Sports Park

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Titans are scheduled to begin training camp this week at Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville. Rookies and veterans report to camp on Wednesday, July 24th, and will take the field for the first time on Thursday, July 25th.

Fans of the Titans can get their first glimpse of the 2013 squad on Friday, July 26th, the first of 12 total training camp practices that will be free for the public to attend. Training camp is the only time of the year that practices are open to the general public.

Tennessee Titans

On Sunday, July 28th, fans are invited to the annual Academy Sports + Outdoors Night at Titans Training Camp. Registration is open at Nashville area Academy Sports + Outdoors locations to win VIP access for that evening, and at the practice, there will be special giveaways.

Training camp will operate similarly to previous years. Free parking is available directly across the street from Saint Thomas Sports Park (460 Great Circle Road) at the CVS/Caremark corporate offices. A tent will be on site next to the practice field selling a wide selection of Titans apparel and merchandise, and cold non-alcoholic beverages will also be available to purchase.

Fans can watch practice from the perimeter of the three outdoor practice fields, but spectators should be prepared to stand in typical Middle Tennessee summer heat for the duration of their visit, as shade and seating are very limited.

For an up-to-date camp schedule, fans can call the team’s training camp hotline at 615.565.4190, or they can go to the team’s official website, TitansOnline.com/TrainingCamp.

Additionally, fans can follow the Titans through camp on the club’s social media platforms, including Facebook (facebook.com/titans), Twitter (@tennesseetitans), Google+ (plus.google.com/+Titans) and Instagram (instagram.com/tennesseetitans). Users can also use the hashtag #TitansCamp.

Preparations Begin In Earnest

Titans players, who reported to camp on Wednesday, July 24th, have been off since their final minicamp practice on June 19th. That day marked the end a productive and challenging nine-week offseason training program, during which new playbooks were installed and two dozen new players were welcomed to the club.

The offseason commitment figures to pay dividends when the squad’s readiness is put to the test only two weeks into camp. On Thursday, August 8th, Tennessee plays its first of four preseason games, hosting the Washington Redskins on August 8th. Furthermore, the Titans have a mere 45 days from the outset of camp until their regular season schedule begins September 8th in Pittsburgh versus the Steelers.

Training Camp Essential Fan Information

Training camp is the best time for fans to get an up-close look at the current Tennessee Titans. It is the only time of the year when practice is open to the public. A total of 12 practices are scheduled for fans to watch from July 26th through August 13th.

For more information on Titans training camp, fans can call the team’s training camp hotline at 615.565.4190 or log on to the team’s official website, TitansOnline.com.

Fan Admission and Parking

Admission to practice and parking for fans is free at Saint Thomas Sports Park. Fans attending training camp can park directly across the street from Baptist Sports Park in the CVS/Caremark corporate offices at 445 Great Circle Road.

Directions to training camp parking

  • From Interstate 65 in downtown Nashville, take Exit 85 (Rosa Parks Boulevard) North.
  • Proceed on Rosa Parks Boulevard and turn right on Athens Way.
  • Turn left on Great Circle Road.

Security officials will direct fans to the parking lot on the right and assist crossing the street into Saint Thomas Sports Park.

At the practice facility, fans are permitted to walk along and watch from the perimeter of the three outdoor practice fields. Gates to the practice field generally open 15 minutes prior to the scheduled practice. Fans should be prepared to stand during practice, as bleacher seating is very limited. Workouts inside the practice “bubble” are closed to the public.

Practice Times

Every training camp practice this year that is open to the public is scheduled to begin during the afternoon or evening hours. The start times range from 3:00pm to 6:30pm. Practices typically last two hours but can run shorter or longer.

Autographs

Every player on the Titans roster will take part in a free autograph session after practice at least once during training camp. Generally, six to eight players are assigned to the autograph schedule each day, and usually the players sign autographs along the sideline of the field nearest to the fan entrance.

Additional players may choose to sign autographs at their discretion. The players’ time is limited, however, and fans are not guaranteed to receive autographs. A tentative autograph schedule is released approximately one week in advance at TitansOnline.com and through various media outlets. The autograph schedule is subject to change without notice.

Dress Appropriately

Fans should dress appropriately for the heat of Middle Tennessee. Training camp practices often take place during the hottest portions of the day, and there are very few shaded areas overlooking the practice fields at Baptist Sports Park.

Access To Practice Is On A First-Come, First-Served Basis

Although over-crowding is rare at training camp practices, there is a limit to the number of fans who can safely attend practices. Fans arriving first will be given first priority.

Merchandise and Concessions

A merchandise tent will be open during all practices, selling a variety of Titans goods and apparel. The merchandise tent will be located at the entrance to the practice field.

Additionally, a concession stand selling ice cold Coca-Cola products will be open during all practices. Fans are permitted to bring their own refreshments. However, tobacco products and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.

Training camp practices at Saint Thomas Sports Park are open to the public, unless otherwise noted. There is no charge to attend practice. Because the schedule is subject to change, fans should check the team’s website, TitansOnline.com, or call the team’s training camp hotline at 615.565.4190 for the latest updates.

If there is inclement weather in the area or extreme heat conditions, practice may be moved to the indoor practice bubble, which will be closed to the public due to safety concerns.
