Austin Peay Governors Golf Classic set for Friday

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – It’s not too late to register your team for the 27th Annual Governors Golf Classic, to be played Friday at Swan Lake Golf Course.

The tournament promises to have most team entered in several years. It features two Friday tee times, beginning with an 8:00am morning round, followed by a 1:00pm afternoon session. Meanwhile, lunch will be served between rounds in the clubhouse.

The Governors Club is honored to have two teams – one in each session – from Fort Campbell’s Warrior Transition Battalion participating this year. The Warrior Transition Battalion is program designed to facilitate rehabilitation of soldiers back to the force or as a productive Veterans.

Sponsored by the Govs Club, the four-person scramble is limited to 60 teams, 30 per round. As of late last week, nearly 50 teams had entered. Registration remains open for teams while individuals, who have not been able to comprise a team, can still enter and be assigned to an appropriate team. Cost is $400.00 per team, or $100.00 per person with all proceeds directly benefiting Austin Peay Athletics.

For the seventh-straight year, men and women’s division have been established. Players age 65 and older may hit from the senior teams while women may hit from the ladies tees. Prizes will be awarded to the top four finishers, as well as to last place, in each flight.
