Burt-Cobb is also offering a brand new, trial of Cardio Boxing for youth and adults. Participants can burn anywhere from 800-1,000 calories in this new, blood-pumping fitness class held Mondays from 7:00pm to 8:00pm through August 26th.

Crow Community Center

The Crow Center is proud to host a brand new club for after-school enlightenment; Chess Club is now held every first and third Thursday of each month from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and is open to all ages.

Crow is also continuing a fun program, Young Champions Cheerleading! Youth ages 4 to 15 can learn cheers, motion techniques, flexibility and stunts (only for ages 7 and up) on Mondays at the center. Ages 4 to 9 will meet from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and ages 10 to 15 will meet from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

Cost to participate is $7.00 per class plus an initial $7.00 registration fee.

Kleeman Community Center

The Kleeman Center is offering great opportunities for teens to make a difference after school. Teens can enjoy activities and classes that are geared toward facing issues such as drugs, eating disorders, peer pressure and alcohol with the Teen Challenge. The Teen Challenge is open to youth ages 10 to 15 and meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the center.

Another great program for teens is the L.E.A.P. Mentorship Program where teens ages 11 to 18 can enjoy basketball tournaments, step competitions and trips for positive outlets after school. Personal mentors will meet with participants once weekly and once monthly with families as well. The L.E.A.P. Mentorship Program meets every Tuesday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

Last year’s Dream Chasers program is back, but this year the program has an additional location! Youth ages 13 to 17 can be a part of this small-group mentorship program each week on Wednesdays at the Burt-Cobb Center at 4:30pm and Thursdays at the Crow Center at 3:00pm.

Teens will have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers, mentors and other teens discuss the issues they face on a day-to-day basis. Teens can also enjoy recreational activities, workshops and summits to help build their futures.
