Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl Finalizes SEC Agreement for 2014-2019

Nashville Music City BowlNashville, TN — Representatives of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl are pleased to announce an extension with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) through the 2019 college football season.

Following the College Football Playoff and Capital One Bowl selections, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, in a pool with the Outback, TaxSlayer.com Gator, Belk, Texas and AutoZone Liberty bowls, will work in conjunction with the SEC office to create the matchups each year. Geography, opponent and repeat scenarios will be key components in the final matchup decision.

“Today’s news is the most significant announcement in the history of the Bowl given the importance of the SEC to our game and community,” said Scott Ramsey, President & CEO, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl. “The new pool process will undoubtedly create more meaningful and impactful matchups when paired against the ACC/Big Ten opponent, increase the average economic impact the Bowl has on our community and deliver increased media exposure for our title sponsor and city.”

“The SEC is pleased to continue its agreement with the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl,” said SEC Commissioner Mike Slive. “Nashville provides a great holiday destination for our schools and their fans and we look forward to the continuation of this important relationship for the conference.”

Last month, the Bowl announced a joint partnership with the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl and agreements with the Big Ten and Atlantic Coast conferences to play opposite the SEC each year in Nashville through 2019.

The 16th annual Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl will be played at LP Field in Nashville on Monday, December 30th at 2:15pm CST, and will be televised nationally on ESPN. Tickets for the 2013 game will go on sale August 30th.
