Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Focuses on Freshmen, Parents for Graduation Motivation

Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation, 100% Graduation Committee and business sponsors announce the 2nd Annual Get Motivated…2017 assembly for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s 2,334 freshmen.

This assembly will be held on the campus of Austin Peay State University at the Dunn Center on September 26th from 9:50am – 11:05am.

Motivational speaker, Kantis Simmons, a former research scientist and current student academic success expert will engage, enlighten, and empower students through his personal story of achievement and adversity.

He will give real-life examples through an interactive educational seminar combined with entertainment and featuring excerpts from his book, “Playing Your A Game.”

In addition, this assembly will highlight the following

  • Challenging freshman students to graduate high school and pursue higher education
  • Helping ease the transition from middle school to high school
  • Encouraging students to make the right choices and not fall victim to peer pressure
  • Inspiring students to set academic goals, study and stay focused

This year, in partnership with a Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) Parent Engagement grant we are offering a special parent-focused session which will be held immediately following the student “Get Motivated” session with motivational speaker Kantis Simmons.

The purpose is to give freshman parents the tools to motivate their children for a successful high school experience. Parents who struggle finding ways to help students academically, stay motivated or just want to find ways to be involved.

We believe that graduation is possible for ALL students in Clarksville-Montgomery County!

The parent event will take place at William O. Beach Civic Hall (350 Pageant Lane) from 12:00pm-1:30pm and will include a light lunch, giveaways, free Kantis Simmons’ books to the first 50 registrants and an opportunity to meet the Director of Schools, Dr. B.J. Worthington and others from the community working to help students succeed.

Parents must register online at: www.getmotivated2017.eventbrite.com
