Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Commerce Street Road Closure

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water construction crew has closed Commerce Street from Riverside Drive to Sullivan Street for natural gas line maintenance work. The road will be closed until 3:00pm.

Traffic will be detoured to Sullivan Street.

Montgomery Central High School Soccer rallies to defeat Fairview, finishes undefeated in 11-A/AA

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – Montgomery Central High School’s girls soccer team finished an undefeated season in District 11-A/AA play, September 26th, but had to do it coming from behind, as the Lady Indians rallied for two goals in the final 44 minutes for a 2-1 victory.

When Fairview’s Morgan Mooney scored in the 14th minutes to put the Yellowjackets (8-6, 6-2 District 11-A/AA) up 1-0, it marked the first time since the opening week of the season that the Lady Indians had found themselves behind on the scoreboard.

NASA along with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Test new Finding Individuals for Disaster and Emergency Response (FINDER) Technology

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationPasadena, CA – NASA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are collaborating on a first-of-its-kind portable radar device to detect the heartbeats and breathing patterns of victims trapped in large piles of rubble resulting from a disaster.

The prototype technology, called Finding Individuals for Disaster and Emergency Response (FINDER) can locate individuals buried as deep as 30 feet (about 9 meters) in crushed materials, hidden behind 20 feet (about 6 meters) of solid concrete, and from a distance of 100 feet (about 30 meters) in open spaces.
