Richmond, KY – Battling offensive issues all night, Austin Peay State University’s football team opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a 38-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky, Saturday night, at Roy Kidd Stadium in front of 7,400 fans.
The Governors remained winless overall at 0-5 while Eastern Kentucky improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the OVC. It was APSU’s 21st straight road defeat.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam joined Department of Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman to announce the administration’s goal of becoming the fastest improving state in the nation when it comes to teacher salaries.
“We’re asking our students to be the fastest improving in the nation in education achievement, and the data is showing that we’re making real progress,” Haslam said. “Teachers are the single most important factor in student achievement, and higher accountability for teachers and proven results should be met with better rewards.”
Clarksville, TN – The University of Tennessee Volunteers dropped a heartbreaking over-time loss to Georgia, 34-31 at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, as the Vols were seeking that “signature ” win they’ve been desperate for.
Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan kicked a 42 yard field goal in overtime to give the Bulldogs the hard fought victory.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University volleyball team may have played their most balanced match of the year, October 5th at the Dunn Center, as they Lady Govs knocked off Eastern Kentucky University in an Ohio Valley Conference match in three straight games, by scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.
The win for Austin Peay (6-13, 3-1 OVC) was its season-best third straight victory, while the Colonels (8-10, 1-3 OVC) have dropped their last three matches.
Clarksville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks are the 2013 District 10-AAA Champions.
They defeated the West Creek Lady Coyotes 3-1 (25-8, 27-25, 25-6, 25-12) in an action filled Championship match at Rossview High School Saturday afternoon. Both teams will travel to play in Regional action later.
“They did really well,“ Lady Hawks head coach Jen Garinger said. “During the season I think West Creek would mentally let us get to them. I think they got over that and definitely proved they are the second seed in this district. Our girls just had to realize that they were not going to let up and they had to come back and fight harder.”
West Creek High School Lady Coyotes defeat Clarksville High Lady Wildcats 3-1, advance to face Rossview in 10-AAA Championship
Clarksville, TN – The West Creek High School Lady Coyotes beat the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-15, 25-18) in the semifinals of District !0-AAA volleyball.
The win advances the Lady Coyotes to the Championship game where they will face the Rossview Lady Hawks.

Rossview High School Lady Hawks Volleyball defeat Northeast High School Lady Eagles 3-0, advance to Championship
Clarksville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks continued their home court dominance in District 10-AAA semifinal action. They defeated the Northeast Eagles 3-0 (25-2, 25-5, 25-8) to advance to the Championship game.
The Lady Hawks offense overwhelmed the Lady Eagles. They generated 20 kills and 20 aces in the match. Janie White led her team with 21 kills and 3 blocks. Regan Comperry generated 5 kills, 14 aces and made 14 assists.
