Fort Campbell Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs for October

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Join Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programs for some great activities this month!

Women in the Wilderness Archery will be offered on October 8th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. You must be age 18 or over to participate. “Women in the Wilderness” is a program designed for women to enjoy outdoor sports and learn a new skill as well as meet like-minded women. The cost is $10.00 and preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 7th.

Climbing 101 will be held on October 9th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. If you are interested in learning how to rock climb then join for an introduction to the exciting sport of climbing. This clinic will cover equipment, belay instruction, safety precautions, as well as technique. The cost is $15.00 and you must be at least 12 years old to participate. Outdoor Rec will provide all equipment needed. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 9th.

Looking for something to do with the Family? Grab the kids and go with Outdoor Rec to Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park where you will spend the day hiking around Pilot Knob, one of the highest points in West Tennessee. Located on the banks of Kentucky Lake, this historic park offers stunning views, miles of trails and the Tennessee River Folklife Museum. The Nathan Bedford State Park Family Hiking Trip will be held on October 12th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The cost is $19.00 which includes transportation. Ages 8 and up may participate and preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 10th.

Here’s another opportunity to try out the new indoor climbing wall. Open Climb will be held again on October 16th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Ages 12 and up may participate and the cost is $10.00 which includes all of your equipment. This is a great way to work on your skills or meet other climbers in the area. All participants must pass a belay certification prior to using the wall. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 16th.

Women in the Wilderness Skeet Shooting will be offered on October 19th from 8:30am to 11:00am. You must be age 18 or over to participate. “Women in the Wilderness” is a program designed for women to enjoy outdoor sports and learn a new skill as well as meet like-minded women. The cost is $20.00 and preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 18th.

Did you know that Clarksville has some of the best climbing in middle Tennessee? Join Outdoor Rec as they venture to King’s Bluff, a scenic 2 mile crag located just 15 minutes from post. This climbing adventure is on October 20th from 9:00am to 3:00pm and is open to ages 12 and up. All experience levels are welcome. The cost is $30.00 and this includes transportation and equipment. Please bring appropriate clothing, water, snacks and a packed lunch. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 18th.

Take a scary trip to the Scream Creek Haunted Woods on October 25th. You’ll leave at 6:00pm and return at 9:00pm. The cost is $20.00 and ages 10 and over may participate. Scream Creek is Middle Tennessee’s premiere haunted attraction. The Haunted Woods at Honeysuckle Farm offers the most exciting and terrifying Halloween experience around. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 23rd.

Sky Diving! This is your chance to experience a real adventure! Feel the rush at 120mph as you free fall from 10,000 feet. No experience needed. Let trained sky diving professionals show you the experience of a lifetime. Due to these being tandem jumps, participants’ weight must not exceed 250lbs. This exciting trip will be held on October 26th from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Return time may be extended due to weather and delayed jumping. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate and the cost is $160.00. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 16th.

Join Outdoor Recreation for a spooktacular evening of fun at the Candy Climb Challenge Course on October 30th from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. The cost is $7.00; only $5.00 if you wear a costume. Start the night on the 50 foot climbing wall, collecting candy as you climb; then head over to make S’mores and drink hot chocolate and cider around the campfire. All are welcome but only ages 5 to 15 can climb for candy. Preregistration is required by 4:00pm on October 30th.
