Four Govs to represent APSU Tennis at ITA Regionals

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Four Austin Peay State University men’s tennis players will represent the university at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, hosted by Tennessee at the Goodfriend Tennis Center and Knoxville Racquet Club.

Play begins Friday morning, with competition scheduled to run until Tuesday. Senior Jasmin Ademovic and juniors Dimitar Ristovski, Aleksas Tverijonas and Iago Seffrin will represent the Govs in singles and doubles play.

Seffrin, Ristovski and Tverijonas each drew first-round opponents, with opening-round singles play scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Seffrin and Tverijonas drew familiar foes from Ohio Valley Conference rivals Belmont. Seffrin will face Cedric Dujacquier for the right to play Kentucky’s Beck Pennington, the seventh overall seed, in the next round while Tverijonas faces Henrik Claesson, with the winner playing Memphis’ Joe Salisbury.

Seffrin and Tverijonas will team up in doubles play to face Lipscomb’s Daniel Hernandez and David Salazar in opening-round doubles action, beginning at 8:30am (CT).

Ristovski drew a Lipscomb player in his opening-round singles match; he will face Stuart Tierney in the first round, with the winner moving on to face East Tennessee State’s Rogerio Ribeiro in the next round.

Ademovic, the Govs No. 1, enters play as the 17th seed overall and received a bye into the Round of 64; he’ll face the winner of Friday’s match between Louisville’s Alex Gornet and Morehead State’s Giovanni Samaha.

Ademovic and Ristovski also will pair up for doubles play, facing Belmont’s Claesson and Dujacquier in 8:30am (ET) opening-round action.
