Shopping with a Purpose & Family Fun!

Clarksville, TN – TriFinal8x11nity Episcopal Parish is pleased to announce our 5th annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ Fall Festival, Saturday, November 2nd from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This event will offer “Shopping with a Purpose”, our authentic Brunswick Stew, kids activities, live music, and much more. Proceeds from our food booth will benefit F.U.E.L.

For our “Shopping with a Purpose” market, we have chosen 3 businesses that promote opportunities for otherwise unemployed or underemployed individuals to earn an income.

New this year is a clothing company named Open Arms. Open Arms employs international women refugee survivors who are resettled in Austin, TX, providing them a living wage. Working with 100% recycled materials, these women create eco-chic apparel and accessories you will enjoy! Open Arms is dedicated to creating self-sufficiency and dignity for the women they employ.

Returning for a second year, by popular demand, is Ten Thousand Villages. With TTV you can shop for unique, handmade gifts from around the world including baskets, jewelry, crafts and other items from international artisans. They are the world’s largest fair trade organization and improve the livelihood of disadvantaged artisans.

ThistlThistleFarmse Farms has been a part of the festival from our very beginning in 2009. Thistle Farms, based in Nashville, is a social enterprise run by women who have survived lives of prostitution, trafficking, addiction, and life on the streets. These amazing ladies make, by hand, natural body care products. This program supports Magdalene, a 2-year residential community. “We believe love is stronger than all the forces that drive women to the streets.”

For kid’s activities, of course our featured event will be Pumpkin Chunkin’! Pay a small fee to purchase a pumpkin to put in our 10 foot tall catapult and sling it up to 40 feet in the air. And the fun continues with a mega-obstacle course inflatable, a magician and balloon artist, face painting, crafts, bobbing for apples, and more.085 (200x133) (2)

Returning this year is live music with Lynne Yarborough from the band Last Train. Larger than in years past, we have over 10 silent auction gift baskets and 10 raffle items to be given away. And always a crowd favorite, our 3 scheduled Cake Walks will complete your day with a chance to choose from 30 delicious cakes.
