Austin Peay didn’t get off to a sizzling start offensively, making just six field goals in the first six minutes. Stainback opened the game with a three-pointer on the first possession and her jumper at the 14:20 mark capped a 13-4 APSU opening run.

The Lady Govs defense held Martin Methodist without a field goal during that six-minute span, surrendering the first basket to Kelsey Nowlin at the 13:55 mark. Stainback immediately responded with a three-pointer, giving APSU its first double-digit advantage, 16-6, with 13:43 left in the period.

However, Austin Peay scored the next eight points – a Stainback three-pointer, a three-point basket by senior Nicole Olszewski and a jumper by sophomore Tiasha Gray – to push the lead back to 15 points, 30-15, two minutes later and APSU would not be threatened again.

Austin Peay pushed the lead to 22 points just before halftime courtesy freshman April Rivers’ three-pointer with 40 seconds remaining. Martin Methodist scored the half’s final points and trailed 45-25 at the break.

The Lady Govs didn’t waste much time pushing its advantage to 30 points in the second half, using just over five minutes. Olszewski’s jumper with 14:49 left gave APSU a 61-31 lead. Olszewski helped push to lead to 40 points eight minutes later with a free throw at the 6:14 mark. The lead grew to 50 points, the largest of the contest, when senior Lauren Yarbrough hit a three-pointer with 37 seconds remaining, setting the final score.
